Settling Into a New Kinda Life

Being fifty (50) comes with some great surprises. The willingness to accept growth as it comes is exciting. Not having to apologize for it is fantastic! I set out after turning 50 to bring more meaning to areas of my life where i wanted to improve my out put. I have been sharing my new life with so many amazing people.
Leslie K. Hammond is my spiritual healer. She's a very amazing, extraordinary woman who has written some great books on healing from the inside out. Her newest is Women Rising, launched just in time for Anne Garland's 5th Annual Circle of WomenWoman rising in October 2013.  So go out and pick up a copy!  Its great reading!  Now on to my story... of sorts
Becoming Re-acquainted with yourself is beautiful
In the Summer of  2013,  I met some people who I believed to be some of the most kindest people I have ever met. I made the choice to continue those friendships through out the remainder of the year and into this new year.  Some people walk into your life to teach you something, and others walk in wanting for something. There is still a lesson in those meetings......
I have always believed we meet people for a reason and a lesson. And if we are keen enough, patient enough the lessons will come. And come they did!
Because of who I am, and the choices that I made to venture down a particular path, I had to learn the lesson of patience.  Which I really sucked at! If you don't mind me saying....
As I waited, anticipating the end result of something I thought would beautiful, I came to realize that I waited for months for something that was never meant to be. Why? Because of how it began.... No matter how truthful our hearts, and desires may be  - somethings are just meant to just be.  That's lesson number one...
The second lesson I learned was about sharing. For the first time in my life I learned to let go and share who I really was with someone who I had just met.  There was something about the person,  that I felt compelled and comfortable enough with them to be able to share myself. (It was strange at first...)  I shared my hopes, dreams, desires and all those things that people are afraid to share with another. I felt like God had given me a gift... I could tell them anything. God - Goddess and I have a great relationship. Yes, I speak of both. I love the fact that I can relate to both the Estrogen, and the on coming of a little Testosterone. :-)
Anyway, what I know to be true is that in each of us there is a sacred space.  It's sacred for reasons that only each of  us knows. It's that part of the soul that not many people get reach. One day I made the decision to open that sacred space and allow another to share a part of me that no other person had. I gave away that special part of myself. That sacred space.  I had or have no regrets. I am free to just be.  It allowed me enhance my love of people. People who represent what is good in the other. I believe that we must love in the deepest and most purest way possible. So my reasoning made sense. To be able to open that space and share allowed me to love a perfect stranger.  I shared my life with them. (They were no longer a stranger to me) What I found in return was priceless!  I found ME all over again. So many people would have given something away they could never get back - their respect. I kept mine, and so much more.  By staying true to me, I knew there  was enough truth and love in me to sustain a friendship and having no regrets.
I am not perfect, but I believe in being truthful to the point of having people exit from my life intentionally. Not because, I don't like them, it's that I love them enough to say goodbye when it was time.  This friend, walked into my life not only teaching me something but wanting something in return. What I got was a real lesson in LIFE. And it's all about Time!
The Story goes like this.... - Well....it's time. You made it time. Your actions made it time. When you find yourself making excuses.. it's time. When you find yourself talking the same talk and your walk is missing it's gait it's time. When you having a reverberation of a previous conversation it's time.  The important thing here is that if you can't be truthful with yourself....who can you be truthful with?  Timing is everything...
Lesson number three..... Sometimes we see things, we want to see in people, but as we continue to grow we learn to see the truth in people.  I am thankful for that truth because it allowed me to see the real YOU.  A friend told me once that  I was to good for some people. They were right. Loving you allowed me to see that. The saddest part is that so many  people go through life playing games with their lives and others. They miss the message... that love (In its purest form) was knocking at their door and they didn't answer.  Friendships are so important.
I have come to realize, that of all the places I have been,  have lead me to be where I am today. I moved into this new town 4 months ago and the other day I recognized a place I had been some 15 years ago. I love when that happens. It tells me, I am where I am meant to be.
Six months ago I visited a new place....It was just for a moment. One moment that I would give anything to have again.  Perhaps in time.....but its not now. And I know that.
I am settling in to a new kind of life... and it's mine.
Peace,
Camilla

The Summer fun is done

KING OF BEASTS: AESOP'S FABELS
Now is the summer of our discontent.......

Okay wrong words and wrong play. However  I suspect that's how some people feel as the summer is coming to an end and fall is upon us. I thankful for a summer of new things and challenges that made my dreams even bigger.

The summer brought me to new heights, as we (ETC.) allowed our summer camp kids to mold us into what they wanted us to be. More caring, more patient and understanding adults. We challenged them or so we thought. They were the ones who were doing the challenging. (Smiling) The King of Beasts;Aesop's fables the musical was one of the most important moments for myself and the kids. (Learning the lessons of life) through the Aesop's fables. How cleaver is that? The best part was that the show was actually for the parents to re-learn the fables. As parents and adults we tend to lose the sight of a child and all of their ways.

Watching these kids grow and losing myself in the process. Six weeks of sheer fun was has by all who participated. There of course are things I would do different if given the chance, but I would not change the children at all. They were just perfect in every way.

Our children say some of the most wonderful things...Shareese R, came around with I know what a chicken taste like, but I don't know what it sounds like? This was a response to learning how to be a chicken a production.

Genesis W, was famous for the simple phrase of  "I didn't do it"...... Genesis We love you! I watched as one of the shyest kids, Manny blossomed into this amazing Tortoise, and loved every moment of it. Shemuel AKA Shemmy came alive as the hare, and brought the character to a new level. Can you imagine a rabbit who moonwalks and sings. (Laughing out Loud) The sheer joy of seeing kids we had from last year come in and become leaders. Was just the most Awesomest! Ever!!!!  The new kids came and just enhance the bond of family so much. Miss Faith Oliver, Daughter of producer Troy Oliver was just extraordinary. She one young lady  I will never forget. Poised and gentle.  I loved every moment of the six weeks.

We came, we laughed, we learned and we gave our all to these children and in turn they gave us their hearts, and unconditional love and excitement. Thank you to all the parents who contributed to the success of the program. We could have done it without you.

How could we not love these children. I am thankful for each and everyday I got to spend with them. I miss them deeply and I am so glad that I had this moment to share with them.

They made my life brighter with more love than I could ever imagine.

I am thankful for my staff - who went above and beyond the call of duty, accepting and loving these kids.  Giving them what the needed and not what they wanted.

Thank you God for all of it. I am a changed woman because of it.

FOR WOMEN

Women's Rights

I have often wondered what the world would be like if women ruled.  Would we shape the world in a different way? Perhaps some would say. As we view the rights of women today vs ancient times what would some of the differences be?

We have define women's rights as laws that assert women's equality and their rights as women since ancient times. The rights of women to be equal to those of a man, be it property, suffrage or professions.

Okay so what does all this mean to our younger generation? Does this even matter to that generation? So many questions that need to be answered.

It's my impression that me must be on the teaching end of this spectrum in order to get some answers. Unfortunately we are not living in quiet moments, but troubling times. Domestic violence has taken its place, and the value of women has changed in the eyes of not only men, but women themselves. Something must be done to change the tide.

The Emerson Theater Collaborative's Production of The Protest of Pharaoh's Daughter, by Amy Lynn Reifsnyder, and directed by Theresa Broach brings us to a story that truly addresses women's rights not as we know them, but as they used to be.

One mother, knowing Pharaoh’s daughter practiced her daily religious rituals along the Nile every morning, sent her son among the reeds in a basket. Pharaoh’s daughter, in direct defiance to her father’s decree, adopted the child, his sister, and his mother into her household.

What happens when a woman risks losing her social status, her faith community, her family, and her life by standing up for what is right? Can anything good come from such an action? Are we the kind of people who strive for social justice at the risk of all we know and are familiar with? Does it matter what decisions we make on a day-to-day basis? The Protest of Pharaoh’s Daughter explores these questions as we hear the story as witnessed by the handmaiden of Pharaoh's Daughter.

A Large and in Charge America

I am for ones who want to live in peace and harmony with our global neighbor. I chose not to wage war with others to make us a more large and in charge America.

America our large and in charge days have long since gone.

American is no longer large and in Charge - Because that went out with our ethics, our pride, our lack of hard work, our lack of helping our neighbors, in helping the common man, woman and child, when the guilty have more rights than the Innocent, when top executives, make 20 times the average work, when executives commit white collar crimes, and get less time, when the poor pay more taxes, than the rich because of capital gains, when our schools lack the best teachers, because there is no money in the budget, when families who raised their children in a community, and now refuse to increase their taxes because their kids are no longer in the school system, Our large and in Charge went way when a corporation can buy an election, When the supreme court said that corporations are people. Our lack of taking responsibility for our actions as people.

America is no longer large and in charge, and who ever said we had to be.

How about being being large and in charge of the US in the of USA. Taking care of our own people, feed our hunger, house our homeless, Educate our children so they can compete with themselves at being the very best for themselves and their communities. Providing the very best health care for all people
here in our communities (Not just on Capitol Hill).

How about removing the ignorance from the mouths of fools who claim to be serving the people, yet they serve themselves, with over paid salaries, Tax Cuts that only help the one-percent.

The Large and in Charge America would celebrates that 47% because they are ones who need it most.

A large and in Charge America would give the power back to the people, and not a Corporation.

A Large and in Charge America, would put our farms back to work of growing, healthy food for people to eat. (No We need more corn for fuel...right?)

A large and in charge America would split the conglomerates up and have some real competition, Remove the banking fees so American's can spend their own money without a fee. (Yes, Let's charge them to use their own money)

A Large and in Charge America, wouldn't need a "Governor" who needs to get a BINDER FULL OF WOMEN to get the very best women for the job. I Guess he didn't know any women, so he had to ask for a binder to find one. This should tell you all you need to know.

A Large and in Charge America, wouldn't need to have their politicians having off shore accounts to avoid paying taxes on money that they make here in the Good Ole' USA that could be helping to pay some of those taxes that the middle class is paying for.

I am one of those who believes in minding our business, and allowing other to come to their own realizations. Not every country needs to be a democracy. Not every country needs the kinda help we offer. That is a fact!

When a country or a people are ready to rise up they will do so in their own time. Just like America did!

America doesn't have all the answers for the rest of the world, because we don't event have the answers to help ourselves.

A Large and in Charge America would take care of its VETERANS, and not deny them the proper care upon returning from wars. They defended our borders, our shores and our country because that was their duty. They served and gave the ultimate sacrifices, of themselves and their families to protect the freedoms that "we" have. Or are we only free when its suits the powers that be?

If we are "FREE," then we should be free to chose for ourselves, what we do with our bodies, our minds, and our lives.

We are not a free people, when our politicians are making laws that affect our bodies, minds and our lives. We're all set to rise up and go to war to defend the rights of women and others around the globe, yet we are so un-willing to apply the same rights in the USA. Why is that? What are we afraid of?
